To develop, improve, and expand life long learning opportunities for adults by providing quality training and related services to meet the needs of the individual, businesses, and our community in the 21st century.
The adult training center offers a variety of full and part time programs in the areas of business, computers, health care, trade & industry and personal enrichment. In addition, we offer customized training and consultative services to both private sector and public sector organizations.
The TCTC Adult Training Center began providing adult education programs to the community in 1978. Housed at the Trumbull County Joint Vocational School (TCJVS) in Champion, the adult education department began with only three staff members and offered just a few programs. In 2000 the TCJVS changed its name to the Trumbull Career & Technical Center (TCTC) to better reflect the educational opportunities available to secondary and post-secondary students. In July 2002, the Adult Education Department moved to the former Gordon D. James Career Center in Lordstown, becoming the TCTC Adult Training Center. In 2006, local and state dignitaries gathered to cut a ribbon celebrating the opening of a new 44,000 square foot building dedicated to serving the adult learner. The building sits on the TCTC campus next to the high school allowing for shared resources.
Statistics show that technical training is required for over 70% of all jobs. Our training programs are designed to help adults upgrade present skills for advancement in the workplace or develop new technical skills necessary to gain meaningful employment.
