TCTC Adult Students Assist Rehab Center with Fundraiser
Help Is Real With HOPE

Thanks to Project HOPE, out-of-work Ohioans are able to get the skills they need to get a good paying health care job. Project HOPE (Health Profession Opportunity Grants) is a five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Job and Family Services. The grant was awarded to Eastern Gateway Community College. Trumbull Career & Technical Center partners with Eastern Gateway Community College in providing eligible low-income residents with the opportunity to obtain education and training for a career in health care.
Trumbull Career & Technical Center students have and continue to utilize the benefits of Project HOPE. Project HOPE has funded over 50 students in the Trumbull Career & Technical Center’s STNA program. The tuition cost for those students was paid in full by Project HOPE.
Trumbull Career & Technical Center’s LPN program and Medical Assistant program are also utilizing the benefits of Project HOPE. Through the Project HOPE Rewards Program, the students earn monthly gas cards; school supplies; household cleaning items; and program items, i.e. scrubs, watches, calculators.
Project HOPE also partners with local community services. Emergency funding is available from Project HOPE when a student has exhausted their resources from the community. These services include anything that would prevent the student from attending school, i.e car repairs; child care.
Latoria Eason, Student Coach for Project HOPE also meets one-on-one each month with the students to go over how things are going for them in school.
